It's a brand new year, so I've renewed my membership to the Romantic Novelist's Association for a start.
Following on from the Conference in Leeds last year, I'm working on a novel set during WW1 in the midlands. Main characters are Tom and
Ethel. He's volunteered himself to fight in the war, and left Ethel in charge of the Coventry and Warwick Hat Factory. She has a younger sister
Janey to look after, as well as keep her job and try to build the business into something that Tom will be proud of when he comes home.
More on that later, but my main aim is to finish and get beyond chapter 5 of that.
Also working on pocket novel number 5 - set in Barbados.
Had a phone call from an auntie last weekend to say how much she enjoyed the last one, and when will there be some more? Great for
the motivation when you hear from readers who loved the last story.
SPEND LESS TIME ON SOCIAL MEDIA! I do realise we have to promote, but let's face it there's no point promoting yourself without anything
for readers to read... My passion is writing, so therefore in 2019 I will write.
For fun, I want to produce a book of my short stories, with the opening one being - No-one will ever know. This is my mum's favourite story
and I think typical of my kind of writing.
Meeting up with writing chums is always a pleasure. Here's me and Patsy at Kenilworth Castle, and Linda and Carol with me at Leeds last year.
Hoping to meet up again soon.
